Me and my partner stayed at the De Vere Water Park hotel as a get away together and to be completely honest for £130 per night it really wasn’t worth it. The room was average with a very uncomfortable bed and kids running up and down the corridor so didn’t sleep much whilst we were there. On the Friday when we arrived me and my partner tried to book a treatment at the spa however we were turned away by staff and were told that we could book online. After going back to our room before dinner we tried to book online but it wasn’t working. The following day we went back to the spa at 9 am to book a treatment manually to then be told everything was booked until the day we were leaving at 12:30. This also meant that we couldn’t even use the swimming pool or the sauna! The only good things about this hotel were the cleanliness, the cooked breakfast was lovely and the gym was good! But waste of money and time off of work in my opinion.

Overall a very pleasant and positive experience. I’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times already and was lucky enough to get the same room every time. The bathrooms are a bit outdated/lived in, but the overall comfort is very good! I also like the breakfast buffet and the staff are always friendly and supportive. The location next to the lake makes for a beautiful scenery! I’d stay there again and would recommend to others!

The spa is shocking, the pool is the size of a puddle and you have to pay £10 and book to use it, not the case at any other De Vere stays I've had, and needs to be made clear with customers when booking. Breakfast was fabulous and the rooms were lovely with fantastic views, and nice and quiet. Overall the facilities were really poor.

This place is lovely great for all ages. Only the issue we experienced is the main bar area, not enough staff, and our food was stone cold when we received it as we waited over an hr!! The Boathouse restaurant for was so tasty and cooked to perfection

We recently spent a weekend here and it was amazing. The receptionist was extremely helpful and polite. The room was immaculate and the views were beautiful. The breakfast was great, lots of choice and options for all dietary needs. We will definitely be returning, highly recommend

Myself & my partner stayed at De Vere for what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend last week. Unfortunately we left severely disappointed with our experience. Having specifically opted for this hotel over other, much cheaper ones due to the pool & spa facilities which are advertised as available to hotel guests for an extra £10, we enquired about the spa at check in, and were met with a short answer that this was 'nothing to do with the hotel' and we would 'have to ask enquire at the spa directly'. After dropping our bags to our room, we headed straight to the spa as we were concerned about the hotel receptionists attitude around the spa. The spa then told us that they were fully booked and not accepting hotel guests that day, however, we could use the gym. Disappointed by this, I raised my issue with the spa staff, who pointed out to me that the spa were actually a different business to the hotel, and I had been mislead by the hotel's website, not theirs, which I thought was fair enough. After booking in at the spa for the following morning for £20 so as not to avoid further disappointment, I then raised my issue with hotel front desk, who were quick to try and resolve the issue with a £20 bar tab, although they 'could not refund me the cost of the spa booking'. At this point, I also booked our dinner reservation, and was told that the Boathouse restaurant was not actually open on Saturday evening, so we would be unable to dine there, again, contrary to what was stated on the website. I was then met with further disappointment later at dinner in the brasserie, having booked the 'WELLSPENT' package which is advertised as '£30 dining credit per guest', in realising that this does not include drinks, which is again not stated anywhere within the promotional copy or terms and conditions of the website. Overall, I left feeling as if I had been completely missold the experience at De Vere, and had been somewhat ripped off, having them not have delivered on several things advertised on their website. For anyone considering booking, I would encourage you call ahead and get clear direction on what will and will not be available in your booking, as the website is full of empty promises.

Very disappointed with our NYE stay for 2 nights. Paid £600 and therefore expected a pretty special stay for our anniversary. The room smelt when we got in, that night we could not sleep as there was some sort of generator that would run every couple of hours or so, which was right outside the bedroom window. The next day after not having slept well, we could see the state that the room was in when the rooms were brightly lit. The carpets and sofas were COVERED in dog hairs, like it had not been vacuumed in weeks. The carpet in the living area I’m sure had stains and what smelt like faeces from probably a previous dog. I went to reception to see if we could change room but being NYE they had nothing free, which is understandable, but I showed videos and pictures of the room to reception who asked me to email them, and they did not even have the courtesy to send someone to clean around or come to the apartment to take a look! Second time staying at a de Vere with our dog and both times was given what felt like the worst room. Just because people have dogs, it doesn’t mean that they live in muck!! Either don’t allow dogs, or clean the rooms properly!! Hopefully the pictures come out high quality enough to zoom in and see the carpets.

The five stars for all represent value for money. We were really looked after from the minute we booked, check in and the restaurant and bar staff. Great walks and the food was brilliant. Will definitely be returning in the summer. Loved to see how dog friendly the hotel was.

Absolutely disappointing experience. The Boathouse restaurant serves food that is mediocre at best—certainly not worth the price. The hotel charges an outrageous £5 per hour for a mere 7kW car charger, which feels like a rip-off. The rooms are, without a doubt, the worst I’ve ever stayed in—poorly maintained and far below standard. To top it off, they charge £10 per person just to use the pool, and even then, access is not guaranteed. Overall, this hotel is not worth the time or money. Avoid at all costs.

The resort was lovely and in a great location within the Cotswolds. Rooms were a great size and the included kitchen in the 2 bed apartment was super helpful. Staff were very friendly overall, the major downside I found was the laundry service wasn’t offered when I asked specifically about it. I knew it was a paid service but was told there is no service available. Then when I asked about the pool, the man sheepishly said we could use it if there’s space, with no mention of a cost. I read my emails and knew there was a cost, but he was not forthcoming with information. The restaurant offerings were great from breakfast through to dinner, and beyond. The grounds and shared areas were clean and well displayed.

This was the first time me and my partner stayed at this hotel, and the first impression was beautiful, the hotel grounds are very nice , with a beautiful lake view from the room. However, the room has some issues, the lack of lights, the accessibility to the windows and the most frustrating part which is why I score 2 stars for the room is the NOISE! We stayed for 3 nights and every morning we have been disturbed by the banging doors, it’s like a constant battle to fall back asleep then BANG, and we up again.

I went for the half-day spa experience, which included an afternoon tea, 50mins treatment and use of the pool and sauna. 1. Afternoon tea was DIABOLICAL! It consisted of three layers: stale scones that fell apart and crumbled upon attempt to cut in half, extremely soggy and stale hovis white bread sandwiches with almost no filling, and leftover tesco mince pies, macaroons and pastries. It was 1st January when I went but the pastries served were still Christmas themed!!! Came home throwing up and being super gassy. Might have gotten food poisoning. 2. Spa treatment was pleasant. I opted for the 50min face & body which included a back massage and a facial. The therapist was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. 3. Pool and sauna was underwhelming. Was disappointed to see such a tiny pool packed with people, which reminded me of a public pool. There were supposedly two saunas but one was out of order so everyone was piled into the one that was still open. I've been to numerous spa hotels and this one had the least facilities. I paid £110 for this experience from 2-6pm. I would not recommend.
